Eek mentioned the "downward spiral" in Iraq.

Regardless if you're for/against the war in Iraq, does anybody honestly think this conflict is gonna end anytime soon?

The terrorists killed Nicholas Berg, America is gonna kill some more terrorists. The terrorists are gonna kill more Americans, Brits, etc. Back and forth, back and forth.

Several years ago, when I'd read the stories about Israel and the Palestinians, I'd always think "I'm glad America isn't really involved in that shit...those people in the Middle East have been killing each other for centuries, and they're never gonna stop."

Well, now we're involved. When (if ever) will it end?

A2345 is correct. Only when the daily American body count is so high that our citizens demand President Kerry remove us from the conflict.

Then we can go about the business of tracking down Al Quaeda and also dealing with the long list of problems we have here in our own country that are currently being ignored by GW Bush.

As much as I'd like the war to end, I don't think pulling out of Iraq is the answer. It would create too many problems. Too many "bad" people would seize positions of power. Iraq would become a factory for terrorism.

You can argue that we shouldn't have invaded Iraq in the first place. But now that we're there, we can't just pull out.
